Los Angeles (August 14, 2018) --
Infinite Esports & Entertainment and OpTic Gaming,
the industry-defining esports media and entertainment organization, today
revealed the launch of Greenwall VR, OpTic Gaming’s official virtual reality
clubhouse in collaboration with Sansar, the premier destination for social VR.
The first-of-its-kind Virtual Reality (VR) space will allow fans of the popular
esports organization to socialize with fellow members of OpTic Gaming’s
passionate fanbase, known as the “Greenwall.” The community can engage with
actual staff and players of OpTic Gaming’s teams, and take part in the most
revolutionary social esports experience to date within an immersive VR

With an unprecedented

“Greenwall” community access watch games together, communicate with other
esports fans from all around the world, submit fanart, purchase team
merchandise, communicate with their favorite pro players, and even participate
in exclusive special events. Future Greenwall VR events and activities will
include real world and virtual awards for fans, and watch parties for North
America League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS), Call of Duty (CoD)
Champions, Gears of War Pro Circuit Fight Night, and many other competitions.
Already a renowned
name in the esports industry, Infinite Esports and OpTic Gaming continue to push the boundaries of esports,
spectatorship and community, providing fans different and exciting ways to band
together and unite under the “Greenwall.” This latest venture into virtual
reality breaks new ground and introduces even more avenues for fans to engage
with their favorite esports team, and charts the course for future industry
investment and innovation with esports fandom and community building.
“With fans and teams
based all over the world, we wanted to create a truly immersive way for our
community to come together and feel like they’re a part of something bigger,”
said Oslo Green, VP of VR at OpTic Gaming.
“By introducing virtual reality to esports spectatorship, we’re taking the
first steps into creating a grander, more immersive, and more modern approach
to traditional sports fandom, community and interaction.”
For Sansar, the collaboration continues an
innovation streak in immersive, interactive spaces. The social VR platform has
already enabled thousands to host, attend, and enjoy dynamic events in virtual
reality or on PC on par with real-life events - accessible to anyone, anywhere
in the world. The Greenwall VR space takes it to the next level providing OpTic
fans a deeper, more engaging fan experience - complete with virtual photo opps,
player meet-and-greets, commerce, exclusive giveaways, and more.
“With Greenwall VR in
Sansar, we’re really pushing the bounds of traditional spectatorship, and
offering an experience that draws fans in - lets them interact together as a
community beyond a chat stream,” says CEO Ebbe Altberg. “We’re absolutely
thrilled to be elevating the esports fan experience with social VR, and we’re
excited to find such a visionary partner in OpTic.”
